i have a compaq presario cq57, wont boot up at all,
ive tried a hard reset and it didnt do anything.. the screen stays black, power LED is lit up, the wifi LED is amber, the caps lock LED is permenently blinking..
ive tried plugging in a different monitor and that did nothing,
when i try to power up the laptop, the cpu fan runs for a short time, the cd rom trys to read but everything goes quiet and the leds as stated above just stay on or blinking.
the laptop isnt old, it was bought about 3 months ago. Help!

Try a Hard Reset as follows.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and see if the notebook will start.
If the above fails to help and as your notebook is only Three months old, you should contact HP and arrange to have the notebook repaired under warranty.

My computer is on and charging but me screen is pitch black and my warranty goes out in a month. So if I do this and it does work for my laptop, how do prevent it from acting like this again?....because after month if any thing happens then I would be replacing a computer.....
