Envy 14 Beats Edition not standing by

[ Edited ]

My notebook is an Envy 14 Beats edition, with Windows 7 64 bit installed.

Recently, when i try to put it in standby/sleep, the screen goes black, but the fan and all the lights keep going.

A couple of times a blue screen flashes and the laptop shuts down. when i start it up again it says windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown, it tries to find a solution online, but never does.

I ran a power report and there were things preventing the laptop from going to sleep.

here is the report:

Power Policy: Dim timeout is disabled (On Battery)
The display is not configured to automatically dim after a period of inactivity.

Platform Power Management Capabilities: PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) Disabled

But i dont understand what is should do, or if the report is even relevant to my problem
Thanks.

Re: Envy 14 Beats Edition not standing by

Having the same problem.  When I close my laptop to put it to sleep, and open it later, I have to turn it back on with the power button and it tells me that it crashed unexpectedly.  Any help would be appreciated, the problem just started in the last few days.
