Hi,
HP have just called confirming that the HDD is faulty. It is completely gone, cannot even recover anything. They are going to put in a temporary HDD to see what's happenging about the CPU spikes until they wait for the new HDD to come and replace.
I have made a query to contact HP so they might replace the laptop but they told that they don't know if it's possible but they will try.
Do you think it's possible that the CPU spikes might have been called for becuase of a faulty HDD?
Thanks
Daniel

Hello again, Daniel_SS!
I'm glad that they are taking care of your laptop's issues,Daniel_SS. It could just be the hard drive? But then again. . . ? As for the CPU spikes, I don't know, it could just be the hard drive. . . . ? I do know that if it were my new DV7 laptop, which I spent a grand total of a light 3000 on, and it was causing me such grief, I personally would push for a replacement. However, you could always accept the fixed laptop back and if another hardware issue arises, then you would have ample firepower that something serious is wrong, electronic GREMLINS, and you could rightfully push for a laptop replacement.
I'm glad that I could help you. And remember, Daniel_SS, that running the 'Windows System Scan' right away and every three months thereafter will help divert disaster!
Don't forget to mark this as solved! Thank you!

Hi Guys,
I got the hard disk replaced and got the laptop back. After an hour of use, I got the same problem as I had before.
This time, this is what happened:
1. Screen blacked out
2. Screen came back on with a notifictaion that the display driver stopped working and has recovered
3. After about 20 seconds, blue screen.
4. Restarted and after approx. 10 mins it did the cpu spiking again with the weird sounds.
5. This happened for 3 times in less than 5 mins !!!
Any help again please?
Thanks

Hello daniel_ss,
I've been gone for awhile, but I'm back to give you a hand. I'm going to take a look @ the link you provided.
Whoa, your laptop's cpu is obviously being pegged to the ceiling! I think that the laptop needs to be turned in for a replacement as the entire Os, programs and drivers are now new yet still undergoing this calamity! It seems as if it may be a grounding issue, and then a sudden release of static electricity? Yes, I do believe so. A faulty ground on a component could cause this. . . ssSsspiking. . . .
. . .Please disable the volume and all volume features in Device Manager, 'Sound, video and game controllers', and then let the issue transpire.
I've also contacted a senior colleague for a second professional opinion, okay? We will get this done.

Hi SSDdrive,
Ok thanks. Here is a link to another post in the forum. I do not know if the problem is the same as mine, but i do beleive so.
Thanks for the reply. I really do not know what is wrong with the laptop. Maybe when HP sees this video. they will understand what I am going through and decide to issue a replacement.
Thanks

Okay, daniel_ss, leave the wireless adapter, just the audio needs disabled, okay, and then go ahead and play a game or stream video and let me know if the issue is still presented; okay?
