Error "Cooling Fan (902)" continues even after installing new bios

HP Pavilion dv7-3080us Entertainment Notebook PC running Windows 7 64-bit. About every third time I power on my laptop, an error message appears stating "Cooling Fan (902)". HP's troubleshooting sites tell me that upgrading my bios will fix the problem. I successfully installed the new bios months ago, and the problem persists. After 5 - 10 attempts, the computer boots into Windows. Any thoughts?

Hi,

Clean the vents of your notebook with compressed air.

Already tried that, many times. Unfortunately, the problem continues, perhaps once out of every five times I turn on the laptop.

Is this notebook still under warranty?

Do you hear that the fan is spinning?
