G62 won't boot...no LED or beep codes

Hi, I have a G62 that won't boot up.  I've searched the forums but have not seen any post with symptoms that my laptop is exhibiting.

Behavior:

After hard rest on laptop (holding down power button for 15+ seconds) with no battery, I press the power button.  The LED on the power button (white LED), the DVD drive (green LED), and the F12-wifi key (orange LED) will all display simultaneously for about 1 second and then all will turn off.  That's it, no fan, no screen, just the LEDs.  The LED next to power port will stay on continuously white when plugged in (orange when the battery is in).

Testing:

I've performed several hard resets.  I've also tried powering up with the memory out, the hard drive disconnected, and the wifi disconnected.  Every time, the behavior described above is always the same.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like a system board issue.  Are you still in the factory warranty period?  I would suggest sending it to  HP for service or having a local shop take  a look at it.

Re: G62 won't boot...no LED or beep codes

Thanks for such a quick response.  Unfortunately, I'm not under warranty.  If anyone else has seen this behavior or knows what the issue is based on the described behavior, please post also.

Thanks again,

Ed
