Here's the issue - my laptop stopped working recently, right after my charger broke. I didn't realize it was broken until I plugged it in to my computer again and the computer wouldn't start. I pulled out the charger but the white indicator light on the laptop stayed lit (I assumed too much voltage or amperage). Then the laptop wouldn't start again. I replaced the charger and the computer turned on but only the lights and fans(on high), which i took to be a processor issue. The computer provided blink codes agreeing with my assumption. Fast forward to yesterday, i bought the Intel t9400 as a replacement and replaced to processor(inspected the motherboard and everything while opened up and saw nothing wrong). Put the laptop back together, now it turns on and everything sounds like its working and it gets to a blinking cursor in the top left corner on the screen, then freezes and the screen goes black. Can't access bios, cd drive will open if button pressed though. Took ram out and got led codes advising no ram and no led codes when ram installed (so i assume the motherboard is ok). Now the oddest part is that if the ac adapter is plugged in, the computer will turn on but the screen stays off, no back light, nothing. If the ac adapter is unplugged and the computer is running off battery, the computer turns on to the blinking cursor, then freezes and goes to a black screen( lit up by the LCD though). Any ideas would help greatly since I spent 50 on this new charger and 150 on the new possessor and will purchase a new computer before taking this to hp but I would much prefer fixing this since in a broke college kid. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello,
I've done a little research into this problem, and I do believe you may have to Reflow the Motherboard.
If it were a rattler. . . .
