Hello!
I have an HP Pavillion dm4-1160us notebook w/ Windows 7 64-bit. I have had this notebook for a year and some days now (May 4, 2011). On May 9 2012, all of a sudden the cursor on the screen froze. I have tried everything from uninstaling to reinstalling the Synaptics driver for this notebook to taking out the battery and AC power to reboot. All the things I tried to do to fix the clickpad/touchpad was found on the HP website, but none of them worked. I realized the Synaptics icon is not in my Icon Tray and I wondered how it disappeared in the first place. Also, when I go to the Mouse from Control Panel, I click on the Device Settings (with my external mouse) and the box is blank. I can't click on any buttons on the tab because they are not higlighted; the only thing I can click is the Reset Setting button. I am really confused, and I am upset about the fact I have to use a DELL mouse to work my notebook. No matter what I do, the cursor remains still unless I place the external mouse in an USB.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT ASAP!!!
