HP 4330s sleep mode not working after updating to F20 BIOS

hi! (first sorry for my English)

I have a HP 4330s notebook. I updated the bios to the newest F20. After that sleep mode isn't working on windows 7 64 bit. When i select the option sleep mode in the start menu, (or simply push the power button on the laptop) sometimes my machine is going to sleep, and waking up when push the button again.  But mostly the situation is the following. The screen turns to black. The fan still running and the power and wifi lights are on. There is no way going back to the OS, only with hard reset, and reboot.

I've checked everything, updating drivers from hp driver support page. Installed windows 7 updates (including SP1). No luck.

Sadly as i see, it's not possible downgrade to a previous bios version. Is there any chance of a bios downgrading option? maybe to F5. Because i do not see any other chance to solving this problem. (or maybe a newer bios release in the future.)

Any suggestions welcome.

The other thing. After updating bios to F.20 on my 4330s notebook, my system can't start the OS every time. Freezing at windows loading screen. There's no option to reset with ctr+alt+del, only with shut down with the power button. After that at the second boot the system will starting. But many times the freezing is happening. Totally random thing. Windows is reinstalled for a couple times, and the situation remained the same. I think the F20 bios triggered some wrong thing to the notebook... I don't know this will be fixed in a future bios version, but I want to shot this junk thing with a shotgun. Never buy a hp product again.

Hey dude... i have probook 4530s and ugrade my BIOS to F20 and started having the same problems.. have you figured something out yet?

Sadly..no. I do not have any solutions for this. Which problems do you have ? I think something wrong in the F20 bios. No option for downgrade to an older bios and there's no newer bios available right now. So an official HP update (in my case the F20 bios) screwed up my machine. I hope a new bios update will fix this problem in the near future. But now it's nearly useless because of this. 

Please let me know if you able to fix this problem somehow.

NO MAN!! i have this problem where my laptop doesnt wake up from sleep just like yours! but its doesnt ALWAYS do it! and yes it started happening since i installed the NEW F20 STUPID BIOS!! why would HP post this online if this hasnt been checked! i have a probook 4530s i5 2.4 ghz... lets hope they come up with a FIX soon!!

Hi, I have more issues than those mentioned bellow and all of them started when i made the upgrade to the F20 bios.

My 4430s stalls during music or media playback and it make the anoying sound as it it was an old laptop that lacks of processor capacitiy.

The keyboard and the mouse have issues too.  The keyboard just dont get all the letters that i type and i found out that it happens at the same time that it stalls when i am playing media.  After coming out from sleep mode the mouse is not recognized or is not responding.

i have tried replacing the audio, video and mouse drivers without any luck.

hmmm.. i guess we all have to wait for the new BIOS to come in...i have noticed some stupid things too, like my mouse acting weird sometimes, my dvd rom making noise everytime i open any media player, and cant put the computer to sleep as it wont wake up and therefore have to rely on the hibernation option, and once the keyboard acted up as the Fn keys and Ctrl keys got switched.. i had to do a hard reset!! HP people should know better than to post UNTESTED BIOS on their official WEBSITE!!

hey guys the new f23 BIOS is out...ive installed it and i think the sleep matter is resolved..not sure though, shuld maybe test it more before being sure..you guys can give it a try too
