HP Compaq NX8220 Boot up Problem

Hi

My laptop that i just recently bought of eBay, came broken. It came with the AC Adapter and the laptop it self. Every time a plug it in to the wall, Nothing, Not even a light will turn on. My question is, is it a AC Adapter fault or is it the laptop. Also, The AC Adapter make a extremely Quite buzzing sound, however I think that it is normal to do that as of my currant laptop's AC Adapter does that (Which is also a HP).

Specs:

Product Name : HP Compaq NX8220

Product Number : PY518ET

Operating System : None, It Does not have a Hard drive (That is not the Problem)
