Hey yal! So, I don't know when it happened, but the issue has resolved. I think there was an update at some point, but I'm still running Kapersky and am able to sleep and hibernate.

Re: HP Envy m4 Windows 8 does not sleep or wake properly

I had exactly the same problem, new out-of-the-box! I contacted HP and Microsoft, and they did not know how to fix the problem. It bothered me for about a month. The solution ended up being reinstalling the laptop from the image on the hard drive after I did this all problems went away and the laptop worked great! Apparently a lot of laptops got a bad image installed on them in the factory, the windows image on the hard drive is not written in the assembly line from the back-up partition. If you reinstall the laptop from the attached partition for backup, the problem will be solved. Good luck!

I had the same problem, and I was not running Kaspersky. It was a problem with the laptops out of the factory. You can read more about my post further down.
