HP G62-208CA laptop shuts down after BIOS updated

The laptop is posting but not booting. Perhaps the boot order is incorrect. Try resetting the bios to default settings.

The laptop shuts down by itself after around 5 seconds.  Even the boot order is wrong, it should NOT shut down.

I have a G62 with the same problem as others have posted. I have tried pulling battery and power and pushing the power button. Is there a fix for this problem caused by a bios update?

This seems to be a common problem and I have yet to find a working solution.... The laptop somehow tries to update its own BIOS and then the laptop becomes bricked...   Is this some plot by HP to force you to buy more of their crappy laptops just as they fall out of warranty?  I've had a Mac laptop for almost 8 years now and haven't had a single issue with it. 

FYI - I've tried recovering the bios using a flash drive during boot (windows + b + power button) and that also goes nowhere.  Not sure if the other posters have tried this (there are several posts on it), but maybe it will work for you guys.

I have the identical problem on HP G62-208CA.
I even removed the RTC battery and replaced. 

Trying the procedures mentioned on the site, It does the HP Bios Update and completes the System Bios Recovery, but then it shuts down and when restarted, I have the same original problem. 

Please help.
