HP G62 Shut Down and no Power up

Hi,

So I recently was working on my HP G62 and it shut down out of nowhere. The battery was fully charged so that should not be the problem. Once i returned home I plugged the charger in and the light next to the plug does not light up and the computer is completely unresponsive. I have tried everything I can think of. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Re: HP G62 Shut Down and no Power up

remove the battery, other peripherals and the AC adapter... press and hold the power button for 20 seconds... plug the AC adapter only and turn on the notebook....

Re: HP G62 Shut Down and no Power up

I was having a problem where the keyboard would not work so after reading that a hard reset would work this is what I did.

Ok, I had come to this post because I have been having the same problem out of my g-56 notebook. I tried the same solution that was marked as *solved* however, I still have had no improvement. No light, no charge, still unresponsive. Any ideas?

Re: HP G62 Shut Down and no Power up

My HP G62-340US has been giving power up problems for about six months but I was always able to power up.

The problem started with the inability to power up on the battery. If I removed the battery and plugged in the power adapter, the power indicator lite would come on and I could start the computer. Then I could install the battery and operate on the battery or the power adaptor.

The problem would repeat itself only if I failed to start the computer using the power cord. If I forgot and tried to start on the battery, I would have to remove the battery and plug in the power cord as before.

Yesterday I forgot and tried to start the computer on the battery. Now no matter what I try, the computer will not start. The power indicator lite will not come on.

I tried holding the power button in for 20+ seconds with the battery and power cord removed and then plugging in the power cord. No lite came on and no computer start up. It's dead.

Any thoughts about how to solve this problem or root causes?
