HP G72-C55DX WEEK OLD NOTEBOOK HANGS

FOR SOME SITES, AFTER A FEW SCREENS HAVE OPENED, THE NEXT SCREEN DOES NOT OPEN.  I HAVE ALLOWED SEVERAL MINUTES FOR COMPUTER TO CONTINUE TO TRY TO OPEN.  I HAVE ALSO TRIED "REFRESH", BUT COMPUTER DOES NOT OPEN NEXT SCREEN.

THIS DOES NOT OCCUR ON ALL SITES.

Re: HP G72-C55DX WEEK OLD NOTEBOOK HANGS

Hello Davel1, Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble but we can help!

First of all, it sounds like you are having trouble with Internet Explorer, correct?

If so, here is a quick option to try out if your Internet Explorer hangs up or stops responding frequently:

1. Close out of your Internet Explorer windows.

2. Go to your Start Menu orb from the desktop, then find the search bar at the bottom of the menu, and type in "internet".

3. Select "Internet Options" from the Programs list, then a window "Internet Properties" will open.

4. On the right of that window, go to the Advanced tab.

5. Under the Advanced tab, at the very bottom you should see a button that says "Reset". Select that and follow any steps, then click Close.

6. Go back to your Internet Explorer browser and you should be back in action! On certain sites, you may have to "enable add-ons" for the pictures/videos to display. If so, it should give you the option to enable through an information bar at the top of the screen in Internet Explorer.

Hope this helps! Let me know if this works for you!

I have followed the steps that are shown.  There is no change to the problem.

IE does not seem to be the problem.       ??

Re: HP G72-C55DX WEEK OLD NOTEBOOK HANGS

Sorry to hear it is still giving you trouble!

Does the hang up just occur while using Internet Explorer or do you have the problem in any other programs?

Here are a couple additional steps to try:

1. Try running all Windows updates that are available.

2. Another great option for fixing hang ups is Microsoft Fix it Solution Center. Select the "Internet Explorer" icon from that page and scroll down to step 3 and click "Run Now" on the Improve performance, safety and security in Internet Explorer option.

If you get any errors running Windows updates, keep track of the error code it gives you and post it on here if you can.

Once again, hope this helps!

If i may suggest you can also try another browser to see if the problem still persist, one of the browsers you can try is mozilla firefox. I hope this helps.
