After putting it in high performance, I am still facing the problem.
Could somebody tell me what else to do?
Customer care cannot or do not want to identify the problem...

I too, had the same problem. I did not put up with it - I bought it from Currys and brought it straight back. Warranty or not, where I live I am entitled to assistance seeing as I did not break it myself. I'm not sure if that's the case in your country, so please don't go back to the shop demanding help.
Like said, I put my battery to high performance - this worked, but the assistant told me if it didn't work there could be other problems.
Perhaps your battery is interfering with the soundboard, resulting in the robotic sound. However, if this is the case I don't know why your laptop would lag.
It seems plenty of people have had this problem and the assistant in the shop told me that it happens often in the the g series oh HP. He deleted a lot of programs that came with the laptop that I didn't need - I can't exactly remember what they were, so I apologise - but I would say start by deleting anything you know for a fact you don't need. You can check online what programs are necessary if you're unsure - be very careful though!
If it's your mouse that's lagging, you can change its speed in Control Panel. If nothing helps, send it to HP and ask could they help in anyway, or back to the shop where you bought it. I'm not that sure whether you're entitled to help, but you could maybe ask anyway. There are places designated for fixing laptops, so perhaps you could bring it there?
I know how disappointing it is. I received my Pavilion g6 for Christmas and already it's had 2 problems - one being the robotic sound. I was under the impression HP was one of the leading brands in the world, and to be honest this has sort of put me off purchasing another laptop from them!

I have typed somthing on a similar forum about the sound issue. My wife bought the Pavilion G6 on Saturday. When instaling Windows 7 & Office I noticed the robotic sound. This seems to be intermitant as when I returned it to PC World it was OK. I did copy the faulty robotic sound to my camera & was able to show them on a return visit to PC World. The computer has 6GB or RAM & 500 MB hard drive. The sound files are on the hard drive which include tracks from albums, videos & windows sounds, all which when played become distorted. I have never had a problem with this issue with Dell computers in the house. These are older & have less memory & hard drives also slower processors. The issue seems to be with HP drivers I would think. So many people have the same issue here around the world. HP should issue a bug fix for this & there maybe one. I have to my knowlege downloaded all the up to date software, Win , HP etc but the robotic sound is still Intermitant. HP can you help please or it goes back to PC World. It's not a big deal to run a sound file!

Hi,
After monhts of trying different things, I formatted the laptopt around 1 month ago, and it seems to be working now, and the robot sound has stopped coming again and again...
Maybe you should also try formatting the laptop...???

We took the computer back to PC World & got a Lenovo. Sorry HP you couldn't clear the problem. I will personaly stick with Dell. It was a nice looking computer though.

hi. im having the same problem here. i also set the power option to high performance but nothing happened. i still got the robotic sound. is there anyone knew how to fix this? i bought my laptop only a week before

hi guys i have all these problems with my hp pavillion g6 aswell it is because the hard drive they have put in them are below standard for the type of laptop i have sent my g6 back 8 times and had new hard drives untill i got fed up with it and bought a completly different hard drive for it and that sorted out all the problem out the only thing was i was unlucky and didnt back my hard ware up and i lost a years worth of uni work because my hard drive completly gave up and the laptop blue screened. so uses the option to make a back up disco transfer all your hardware and get that **bleep** hard drive out of there and then you will have none of the below problems.
problems i have had with laptop untill i fixed it.
1)brightness of screen kept going from light to black as if the back light had died.
2) loud robot like noises.
3) laptop getting very hot where its trying to run the **bleep** hp hard drive.
4) keys on the key board stopping working. at one point the leaft half of my keyboard just didnt work.
5)sound going all shity and sounding like the speakers had blown.
6)not updateing proberly and corupting soft ware on my laptop.
7)freezeing for no reason at all.
8)and last but not lest my fav one the laptop just not even turning on and just blue screening.
these are all the things i have had to send it back for and every time they change the hard drive so there for get a new hard drive i hope i have been of help.

Hi there, three days ago I bought my HP Pavilion G6 laptop from PC World (this is the 2nd laptop Ive had from PC World in 2 weeks, I originally bought a samsung laptop but had to take it back for an exchange due to software issues and also because there was no battery included in the box and was given the HP G6 as a replacement) well when I got it home and started using it I noticed that the keys (particularly keys 1,2,3, and 0 on the number pad section of the keyboard) were kind of "lose" and and not as firm and secure as the rest of the keys on the keyboard and they feel as tho they are becoming loser the more I use them. It feels to me as if that section of the keyboard is not screwed/"attached" as well as the rest of the keyboard (if that makes any sense :-/ ? Well my question is - am I justified in taking the laptop back as faulty ? There is obviously something not right with the keyboard and Im far from happy with spending £450.00 on a machine that to me is 2nd rate and shodily built
Also has anyone else had any simular problems with the keyboard feeling "lose" and unattached in places ? I would be really greatful for some sort of advice or feed back. Thanks for your time. Jase1971
