I have a tx1000 that occasionally has problems booting up. Usually, I'll hit the power button, some LEDs will turn on, the fan will spin, and nothing will show up onscreen. Then I play games with the GPU (I believe it overheats and comes unstuck, so I warm it back up to soften the solder and push it down) and surprisingly, this works.
But now I have a new problem. I plug the laptop in, and the light on the power jack (not the power indicator LED) starts blinking at about 2.5hz. Hitting the power switch does nothing. Removing the battery does nothing. All the indicator LEDs remain off. The fan does not spin. The only difference between my laptop and a brick is that one blinks.
I tried a "hard reset", but that did nothing.
And naturally, my warranty has expired
So, any advice? Thanks in advance.
