Hi,

I'm having an issue with the mouse touchpad on my laptop. I can move the cursor & scroll up and down with the touchpad but the click function isn't working. I can't click on anything using the touchpad with my finger so I'm stuck using the mouse button to click on everything which is frustrating. I have checked the mouse device properties and it states that the device is working properly. Any help with my issue will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Jewlz.

Hi Jewlz,

Try the following.

First, download the latest Synaptics driver installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp44501-45000/sp44969.exe

Next, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver' and select Uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has fully reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click the Synaptics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again.

When windows has reloaded, you may need to configure some settings for the Touchpad again as detailed in the HP document on the following link.

Configuring The ClickPad.
