Hi I have a Pavilion g6 three months old and sometimes when I close the lid the unit shuts down.

When I close the lid on my g6 it turns itself off. When I restart it I get the message that Windows was not shut down properly.

I have set the instruction for the lid to do nothing on closing. This fault is intermittent.

 

G6 Laptop A5H00EA#ABU

Windows 7

64 bit

 

Hope someone can help

Hi,

 

As this sound like a Hardware issue, you should contact HP and arrange to have the notebook repaired while you are still under warranty.

 

If you live in the US, contact HP Here.

I just received my Pavilion g6 a couple days ago and have the same issue.  Not happy.

Removed the battery and reinserted it.  Seems to work now but need to keep testing for a few days.  HP Support should put this as the first thing in their troubleshooting for this problem.
