How do I fix a Hyper Cursor

Own a Pavilion DV6. Using Windows 7. Cursor is only moving up & down very fast in the center of the screen. Have turned the laptop on & off. Also, tried starting in Safe Mode. No luck. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thank you, in advance, for your help!
