How do you unlock the keyboard on the Pavilion g7-1167 dx Notebook PC?

Update, I did the latest BIOS update a couple of weeks ago and have not experienced the problem again. Thanks HP, I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hope the fix lasts!

I have the same problem but my laptop goes into Shortcut mode. W= Close, G= what F3 normaly is, S= Search comp, Its wierd. im downloading the BIOS update now so hopefuly that should work but still bizzar

mine does the same thing, does windows shortcuts as v4vampire said above.  I updated bios and still have the issue.  This is beginning to suck!

Double tap the top left corner of the touchpad and it will unlock the touchpad and keyboard

i have a new g7 pavillion 19" and i often lock up the keyboard, after trying everything there have been 2 solutions.  try control key (ctrl), 3rd key to the right of the space bar, and simultaneously gthe prt sc (print screen/insert key just to the left of delete, above backspace)

if that doesnt unlock ur keyboard, then restart the laptop, sometimes u loose what u havent recently saved though when restarting.   

i think my palm/wrist is locking up my keyboard accidentally but it happens almost every day and sometimes multiple times in the same day, and i'm awful at remembering to save/backup my work so i've been seeking to figure this problem out too

I have registered this computer to take the bar exam this February.  i will need to be able to type for 3 hours at one stretch and can't risk having the keyboard freeze.  This Pavilion dv7-6c95dx is new - cost 1,000 and I'm ready to throw it out the widow.  It's already been to the Geek squad at Best Buy twice (for a total of 4 weeks).  HELP

I hawe a problem with my keyboard. Some buttons dont work.( f2, f9, 5, 6 and ?) those dont work.

my heypad is clean and this problem probobly is from windows system.

Can you help mee?

I fixed this on my laptop.   Our baby crawled across it, so I was sure it was a key or combination of keys she pressed.

Arrows, home, page up and pagedown worked.  Backspace did something different.  It put an actual character in place.  My keyboard shows an X in a box with an arrow.

It was a stuck function key.  I pounded on it and the keyboard went back to normal.

I don't know how to fix this, but my laptop does this too....  when I tap on the mousepad too quickly or move the curser too quickly it all locks up.... it would be nice if there was a one key solution too.
