Hp G56-130sa freezes every 2 minutes (it's 2months old exactly)

So I'm very annoyed at this laptop. It freezes up every 2minutes and it's beyond frustrating.

I am wondering if anyone has any advice as to why this is happening? It's a brand new item and not used every day.

My next step is to return it but wondering if there's any advice you can give me.

Hi,

It may be worth running Windows System File Checker.

From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.  In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.

sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )

Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.  Restart the PC and see if this has helped the issue.

Hi,

There are loads of reasons why windows system files can corrupt or get misplaced - anything from a bad update to an uninstallation of software removing something it shouldn't.

Hi, You have probably resolved this problem by now but if not, this is what I have just discovered. I have had the same laptop since the new year and it was happening to me, had it taken away, apparently fixed but it still kept happening... anyway, discovered last night that if you hit the red light twice on the top left corner on the scroll pad thing, it locks and unlocks the keyboard. Hope this resolves it for you too!!!!

I have the same problem with my HP56 as mentioned above.Tried running the scan fix but before it could complete laptop freezes again.Please advice
