HP Pavilion Entertainment PC
model DV5 1127cl
Will not startup. Tried startup repair and it says "Startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically"

It has been a month and a half when this took place. And whenever I have some free time I've tried to get it up and running, lol.
When it first went down: The computer froze forcing me to shut it down by pressing the power button.
I have tried a "Hard Reset" already as well.
Also, for some reason it will not recognize my ADMIN Password?
I have alot of studies on this laptop and do not want to lose any of it. As well as many pictures.
Thanks in Advance...

Right now I'm using an older laptop and my connection is very low.
I am online in here but have noticed a '0' connectivety on this forum, lol.
I forgot to mention the laptop I'm having problems with is "Vista".
Thanks Much...

I have run tests on the hard drive and it showed that there was no problems. The memory tests came back just fine as well.
Is there a way to somehow reset administrator passwords. I have tried every password I know of that I use, none work.
Thank you for your responce.

Hi,
Try a password reset utility such as the free application on the link below.
http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/
If you regain access to your account, run a check on the file system as follows.
Click the Start Menu, click Computer, left click Local Disc C once to highlight it, right click Local Disc C and select Properties. Click the Tools tab and then click the button to 'Check the Drive for Errors'. In the following window make sure both boxes are ticked and then click Start. Part of this process will require a restart to check the drive.
Regards,
DP-K

The password reset was successful!!!
The only problem is I cannot get it to startup to where I can log on.
I went into command prompt to run chdsk and it says there is a repair process waiting to be run. I restarted and tried again. It seems like it hung up in startup repair, which will not repair lol.
Still trying. Is there another command I can run to let's say clear that queve so that I can run the chdsk utility?
Thanks for your help....

Hi,
The problem may be that startup repair can't run because the disk is corrupt and cancelling this may be difficult - what is the exact version of the operating system ( ie Windows Vista 32bit )?

I just noticed something else...
When it begins to startup, it says at the bottom: "no serial number found"
Three months before this problem I had the motherboard replaced.
Could there be anyproblem relating to this?
I appreciate your time you have put in for the help.
Thank You So Much!!!
