Hey, I am using a HP ProBook 4530s with Product Number: LH322EA#AB8.
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Usually when I am surfing on Internet and while I am playing a video game, suddenly my display gets wrecked and PC gets stuck.
I always update drivers and software but nothing solves the problem. It happens very often and I need help. ![]()
Here is an example:

This type of failure has also happened on my 4530s as well. Only one time so far though and hopefully just some temporary software issue.
In my case the "scrambled" video was shown on the external monitor which was connected with HDMI cable. The random video signal was shown for about 10sec before the computer shutdown automatically.
Nothing unusual was found in the eventlog.
Using all the latest software drivers that are on the HP support website (Windows 7 64-bit).

I have exactly the same issue with my ProBook 4530s since I bought in Dec 11
For me it used to happen every other day. I updated all drivers etc and it stopped for a few days,
but now again it has started happening almost every day. Not able to figure out a pattern.
HP support sugegsted reseating memory now suggested reinstalling OS. Havent tried
resinstalling yet.
Update: 2/23/2012
HP support assistant was not updating properly. Got it working in Jan and installed recommended
updates including video driver. That suddenly fixed the problem. So I assume it was related.
Then started getting "shift key stuck" issue
Removed HP Power assistant and that problem seems resolved.
Now today suddenly the garbled screen problem has resurfaced.
Installed another video driver update. But still got same problem after an hr.
Im really sick of this laptop. Never had issues with 4 dell inspirons
and another hp pavilion

I have exactly the same problem with my Probook 4530s. Took it in after a harddrive crash which I thought was causing the scrambled screen. After harddrive replacement and new operating system, the screen still scrambled up. Update the drivers and BIOS, but still no luck. Took it back and they also updated the BIOS and drivers, so I told them I'm not taking it back unless they change the motherboard as this surely seems to be a hardware problem. Of course, the laptop works perfectly when its with the technician, so he probably thinks I'm nuts.
Guess what, after changing the motherboard (...or that is what they say they did), I still got the scrambled screen. I am so tired of this.
When you unplug the power cable from the laptop, it dies. So there aren't even battery power when the laptop freezes up.
My next step is to get HP to my house and check the problem out.
HP, I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOME FEEDBACK FROM YOU GUYS!!!! THIS IS MY LAST HP I WILL EVER BUY!! AND I AM A COMPUTER DEALER...I'M JUST SAYING!!
