Intel bluetooth driver incompatible with word 2010 - crashes it [ Edited ]

Win7x64 with MSOffice 2010 x64 too. In MSWord/AddIns/COM Addins, there is the following addin "C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Bluetooth\btmofficea.dll". If this is enabled, MSWord crashes when opening it or when doubleclicking on a .doc or .docx file to open it.

Win7x64SP1

MSOffice 2010 x64SP1

from Intel PROSet drivers: btmofficea.dll v.1.1.0.0051 (2011-07-12 17:09)

All these on an HP Pavilion dv7.

I hope this counts as a bug report and can be transferred to the appropriate people to correct it.

Hello,

Can you give me the complete model of you notebook (for example dv7-6c10us), as well as your serial number.

You can usually get them by looking the label under your computer (maybe you'll need to remove the battery to find it), or by pressing Fn+Esc keys.

Seems to be a known Office 2010 issue. It happens on different computer brands, with different bluetooth stacks. But Microsoft hadn't provided a fix yet. The only solution for the moment will be to disable this add-in permanently.

Yup, i know, thanks. I've already disabled it. I don't really care about it anyway but i just thought of reporting it here hoping someone may notice and fix it.

Thank you for informing us. But posting on Microsoft forums would surely be more useful, as it is a Office related problem. Only them can provide a fix for this.

Hmmm. From what i've understood by searching on the Net, it's an Office plugin issue, not Office itself, because other plugins work normally, that's why i reported it here. Maybe that's not the case...

Anyway, never mind.
