Internet applications (email, calendar, google search) and adobe crashing: hp pavilion dv7 4053

Laptop: Hp pavilion dv7 4053 entertainment notebook with Windows 7 64-bit

Yesterday the system became very slow, with apps crashing and suddenly got blank screen with an arrow and couldn't go anywhere. Looked problem up in forum and followed suggestion to unplug, remove battery pack.  I did this last night and after replacing laptop started ok.  Was able to do some e-mails and Microsoft apps (Word, Picture It 9) successfully.

Today, when I access the internet, Google search, g-mail, google calendar are all hanging, with an error message like "Google chrome is not responding.'  I also tried to use Adobe Acrobat Pro X to combine 4 pdf files. When I tried to select multiple files, it hung and eventually said "Adobe . . ..  is not responding." Next I tried selecting the files one at time; it let me and display all the documents in a single document; however, when I tried to save the combine document, it hung with the same error. I tried Firebox and got the same error.

I am currently running a scan with my ESET NOD32 Antivirus software. It finished my C-drive and is part-way through my back-up drive.  It said it's found 5  infiltrations -- since it's not done yet, I'm not certain what will be the next step when the scan it complete.

Try to restore the system to the point where you remember that everything worked fine.

After deleting the infiltrations found by  ESET NOD32 Antivirus everything started working again -- yeah!
