Keyboard, touch pad and mouse are dead.

Have an HP Pavilion DV7 - model DV7-6153NR - prod LW471UAR #ABA  O/S WIN 7

The keyboard, touch pad and mouse suddenly went dead. When I try to boot up I get an error that says Windows didn't shut down successfully. I cannot choose anything but normal boot here as the keyboard arrows have no effect. When it gets to the Windows log-in screen where I need to enter my password the keyboard will not work, the touch pad will not move the curser (It's sitting dead center of screen) and my mouse will not work and the finger print scanner doesn't work. The F12 key does disconnect and reconnect the wireless. The caps lock and num lock keys do not work. The touch pad is back lite. There is a picture of what looks like a keyboard in the upper left corner of the screen.

Took it apart thinking that maybe the kids spilt something on it or the keyboard came disconnected. Nothing inside and cable is still connected.

Hello,

Connect an external keyboard/mouse via the usb. If the laptop is @ issue, it won't work; if windows OS is @ issue, it will.

ED: Oh, and, hey, I take it that if the external works, you know how to get to the Device Manager.

Plugged in a usb keyboard and still dead.
