It is time for you to either go to QVC and get a replacement or contact HP Total Care for warranty service.

 

Your power adapter may need to be replaced. Let them know what you have done so far in terms of troubleshooting.

We are having the same problem with our Compaq Presario CQ57 229 WM Notebook PC

Tried your suggestion and the power button lights up for a few seconds and goes back out.  It was doing the same thing with the battery in but the Caps Lock button also flashed and the wireless button was lit.

Hi

 

I have a HP dv2000 and it wont turn on either. However I have already tried all of the troubleshooting that you explained previously. Unplugging the power supply then removing the battery, holding the power button for 15 seconds. None of this has worked. My mother had the same problem with her HP laptop and your tips worked, but they are not working on this occasion and my laptop is still unable to turn on. Its as if it is completley dead. Do  you know how this can be fixed?
