I've written to HP support, gone through this msdt process and whatever else was written. I have yet to receive a single reply from anyone. Extremely disappointed.

Ok, I have followed all your instructions, and sent the email to the HP OCATEAM...what's next?
shall i wait another couple of years to have this bluescreen problem solved or is there a real team working on this worldwide issue? sorry, but this is not fun at all...i bought the laptop 1 and half year ago, and it is not possible to pay 1k$ for such a trash, it is a shame for HP and for Win7.
Apple is only a few 100$ more and I would have got a decent and reliable system. I feel like HP stole money out of my pocket.
Please, do you know if they are going to write me an email? how does it work? How long will it take?
thanks,
Matteo

I got this a couple of months ago
HP Pavilion dv7-6157nr laptop:
2nd Gen Intel Core i7-2670QM processor (2.2GHz) with Turbo Boost
8GB DDR3 memory
1TB hard drive with built-in protection
Radeon HD 6770M switchable graphics with 2048MB GDDR5 memory
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Blu-ray player and SuperMulti DVD burner
802.11b/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth with WiDi
Triple bass reflex subwoofer
9-cell Lithium-Ion battery with up to 10.25 hours of battery life
it's a very nice computer, but i already experienced alot of problems with it.
1. the computer display is set to turn off after 5 min. as standard, then you have to move your mouse to turn it on again. but the problem is that some times when the display is off i can't turn it on agian no matter which buttons i press not even when moving the mouse, but the laptop is still running, so i have to hold the power button 'till it turns off, and then when i turn it on the laptop will work just fine. what's wrong?
2. some times when i use the computer and everything works just fine, then suddenly it won't open programs like itunes, task manager etc. and it's kinda running slow too, and it's all pretty strange, so what i do is i press start and then shut down, then it will begin to shut down and shows the shutting down logo, but then it will just keep on showing that logo. so i have no choice, the only thing i can do is hold the power button agian. and when turn it on, it all work nice again. what's with this?
3. then when i leave the laptop on for a while and comeback it will show a bluescreen which says "Driver power state failure". and the cpu is running at its max, the only way to shut it down is to hold the power buttom again
seems to be a hardware problem i guess. Please Help!

All,
We have updated the instructions to run the MSDT and upload for analysis.
If you have recently uploaded Log files and have not heard back from the crash team, please try the new procedure. Instructions

MSDT thing isnt working, it just keeps saying unable to connect to server. As for the log file I have emailed it AGAIN, just like I did a month ago and got a response to fill out a survey! For the sake of everything you hold dear please solve this issue. I am using my laptop for university work and all this random crashing is really making it hard to do so. It even did this while I was right in the middle of a presentation !
