MY HP PROBOOK 4530S DOESNT WAKE UP FROM SLEEP!

Hi guys i am currently using a HP PROBOOK 4530s i5 2.4 G, 1GB RADEON 6490M, 4GB RAM. the OS is windows 7 proffessional 64 bit. the problem i am facing currently is that my laptop when i put it to sleep or close the lid doesnt wake up from it, i mean i hear sounds of it turning on but nothing comes up on the screen! I have been trying to install the new ATI drivers since the ones i have are old and they are the only ones seem to be working as whenever i downloaded the latest version, they wouldnt work, couldnt switch between cards and it didnt show up! i did that and restored my windows a couple of times to get back to normal, then i upgraded my BIOS, as i thought that could help but it didnt! instead this new WOULDNT WAKE UP FROM SLEEP thingy started happening! ive tried a couple of steps to amend it but its just not happening,

1 tried cleaning registry

2 triend using the powercfg command: it resolves the issue for then but afterwards it starts happening again

i am thinking about reinsatlling my windows, but wanted to make sure that this issue could be resolved any other way. i am really worried as i am afraid to put my laptop to sleep now! HELP PLEASE!!

I have the same problem with you, it's problem of F20, and still wait for HP bios update. Nothing to try now, just wait

Re: MY HP PROBOOK 4530S DOESNT WAKE UP FROM SLEEP!

Don't know whether this is still relevant for you, but I've just had a very similar problem with the ProBook 4535s. Couldn't get it to wake from sleep no matter what I did, and ultimately had to remove battery and power to kill it completely before rebooting.

I found a solution, which was to enable "Hybrid Sleep Mode" within the Advanced Power Settings of the active Windows 7 power scheme.

Might be worth you trying this if you're still having issues, though I hear there is now a new BIOS version for the 4530s, which may resolve the issue anyway.

Best regards,

Simon.

Re: MY HP PROBOOK 4530S DOESNT WAKE UP FROM SLEEP!

great, if the BIOS update is the problem, then why don't they pull the update down? i just bought a 4530s LAST NIGHT, and this morning wouldn't wake and i got a corrupted drive ecryption :smileysad:

i'm doing a system recovery now, but the bios can't be flashed backwards can it?

haven't had the problem since system recovery. i did do the hybrid sleep thing, but not sure if that was the fix or the recovery was the fix.
