Hi All,
I'm having two problems which i think may be related. Just to provide the basics I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on an HP Pavilion Dv4. My BIOS firmware is version F55.
So in the latst week my mouse has been having two problems. Sometimes when I reboot or recover from hibernation I'll notice that the trackpad's orientantion has been reversed. By this I mean when I push my finger up, the mouse pointer goes down. I figured out to correct this problem I have to go into the trackpad settings, click on the orientation tab, and push the little dolphin into the water. It's annoyed to have to do this so frequently and wastes a few minutes each time.
Second, I've also started ocassionally having issues where when I reset the computer the mouse and keyboard are frozen immedietely after I get into Windows. Usually 1 or 2 manual restarts will solve the problem, but again - very time consuming.
I *think* there may be some relationship between this problem and my USB drive. I've noticed that thsi problem seems to occur usually when i leave somethign plugged into the USB drive.
I'm not sure if the HP support software may have recently downloaded an updated driver that is causing this problem. To be honest I find this software incredibly bloated and not very user friendly. There has to be a better way to ensure we keep our systems updated.
Anyways - thanks in advance for your help. Let me know if you need more details from me.
Thanks,
Sanjay
