What have you installed since purchase as software (including antivirs)?
Do you have anything (a USB device) connected to the notebook when it freezes?
Are you doing anything in particular as in playing a game or surfing the web when it freezes?
The devil is in the details

It doesn't happen on battery power?
Try a hard reset:
Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
press the power button
Post your results
