HP Laptop Pavilion d9700 does not return completely from sleep or hibernate. Screen returns from screen saver but it freezes.  No key or mouse works.  Must be shutdown to work.

I'd start with a BIOS update, check out support and drivers and search for your notebook by model name (i.e. Pavilion d9700)

 

Hit back if this doesn't work.

This sounds disturbingly like a motherboard issue; is the laptop still under warranty? If so, please contact Hp.

 

 

 

 

 

If it were a rattler. . . .
