My Hp Pavilion dv6 Notebook Pc wont go past the start up menu

This laptop is only a couple months old, its fairly new and now whenever I try to turn it on, it stops at the start up menu. It doesnt freeze, but no matter what i try I cant use the laptop anymore. Whats wrong?

Hi,

Try loading to Safe Mode with Networking and check it does the same thing.

How to Enter Safe Mode With Networking: 

Once in Safe Mode with Networking do a clean startup

If it works fine in Safe Mode then most likely a software issue or virus issue. 

If the system is still slow in Safe Mode then run a hard drive diagnostics and Let me know what happens..
