Newly Purchased, HP-Refurbished, Laptop Fails At Everything

My newly purchased HP-refurbished DV6-6135DX blue screens in Windows, won't take the restoration DVDs I made, and fails during the F11 Recovery Install.  Installing Windows 7 with a good MSDN version gives a blue screen error as well.  MemTest86+ run overnight and the HD test in BIOS do not show errors, but noticed the BIOS release installed is F.20 - which had issues with blue screens in Windows.  I also get kernel oops in Linux as well.

 

I need a way to try and upgrade the BIOS to the latest release on a bootable CD, as there has been no working Windows environment since I purchased it.

HP usually gives a 90 day warranty on refurbished machines.I would ask for warranty service,repair or replace.
