HP Pavilion dv3t-2000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC
Windows 7 64-bit
My laptop started turning off as soon as I unplugged it, from reading online it sounds like there's a problem with the battery (it had been acting funny recently, as soon as I would unplug it would go to 77%, then back to 100% as soon as I plugged it back in).
I went to run the Battery Check within HP Support Assistant but I don't see that option, at the bottom it says "Loading" for my system's details no matter how long I let it run.
I downloaded the standalone Battery Check but it wouldn't install, it said I should run the test from within Support Assistant.
I also went to http://h20614.www2.hp.com/ediags/gmd/ProdDetect4Mo

Download and install the latest HP Support Assistant from the following weblink:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp5462
Restart the system before installing HP Support Assistant and after installation. This should solve the problem with HP Support Assistant and allow you to perform Battery Check.

Thanks, I ran Battery Check with the updated version of Support Assistant and it does say my battery is dead and needs to be replaced. :-(

If your system is in warranty, please contact HP support to get replacement. If not, please purchase a new battery.
