No option in Power tab of Support Assistant to check battery and can't run standalone tester

HP Pavilion dv3t-2000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC

Windows 7 64-bit

My laptop started turning off as soon as I unplugged it, from reading online it sounds like there's a problem with the battery (it had been acting funny recently, as soon as I would unplug it would go to 77%, then back to 100% as soon as I plugged it back in).

I went to run the Battery Check within HP Support Assistant but I don't see that option, at the bottom it says "Loading" for my system's details no matter how long I let it run.

I downloaded the standalone Battery Check but it wouldn't install, it said I should run the test from within Support Assistant.

I also went to http://h20614.www2.hp.com/ediags/gmd/ProdDetect4Mozilla.aspx?lc=en&cc=us to scan my system but that wouldn't work either, something about a Runtime error and then the ActiveCheck plugin crashes.

Re: No option in Power tab of Support Assistant to check battery and can't run standalone tester

Download and install the latest HP Support Assistant from the following weblink:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54620.exe

Restart the system before installing HP Support Assistant and after installation. This should solve the problem with HP Support Assistant and allow you to perform Battery Check.

If your system is in warranty, please contact HP support to get replacement. If not, please purchase a new battery.

Hi it's not under warranty but I checked at your site and the model number is not listed…what are my options? (It's a dv3t-2000).
