Optical DVDRAM driver code error: (Code 32)

I have 2010  dv7-4060us notebook with a new problem on the HP  dvdram GT30L ATA Drive. DVD/CD optical drive has been disabled and is no longer operative.

I found this Drive Error note:  A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionallity (Code 32)

I have uninstalled and installed this optical driver, looked for updates, troubleshoot (Claims everything is working properly) and used Microsoft Mr. Fix it with no success. 

The only new software I recently installed was Microsoft Office 2010 Student Home version version via DVD two weeks ago. 

what can do to rectify?

HEY, I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS YOU!! AND I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING, AND NOTHING I AM DOING IS WORKING. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIGURE OUT WHAT IT TAKES TO FIX IT. I AM READY TO TOSS IT IN THE POOL AND BUY MYSELF A IPAD. OR MAYBE IM JUST LOOKING FOR A REASON TO GET ONE.

I used the HP Support Assistant via live chat that walk me through step by step process to fix this issue.  It is worth the time (45 minutes). There is a command issue I would have never found!
