Pavilion dv7-3007tx Entertainment Notebook PC - frequently gets hot and hangs

I purchased this Notebook appx 3 weeks ago and it has hung with a blank screen approx 6 times...

It appears to overheat - whether on power or battery mode even in powersave, in an airconditioned room, on a wooden table.

Is anyone else having overheating issues with this model ?

I will be starting a course soon and do not want it hanging during a session...

The only way I can get it to recover is to remove the power and battery.

Re: Pavilion dv7-3007tx Entertainment Notebook PC - frequently gets hot and hangs

Hi

Yes I have recently had my hard drive replaced for the 2nd time within a year! And before this was happening I was getting heating issues and the screen would blank out also but usually for only a few seconds. I didn't really think much about the blanking out, but after reading your post I realise now that, that was happening! My warranty has just run out so I was able to get the hard drive replaced before it did. However if it happens again within the year I will not be very happy with this brand! Fingers crossed it doesn't happen!
