Pavillion DV 2807nr (AMD Turion 64x2) start-up problem

I'm having a problem regarding start-up of my laptop. It happens when i'm doing defragging my drive. During defragging after about half an hour my laptop shut down and when i try to start-up again it won't open but it has a power because the lights turns on but not booting my O.S. Can you please help me regarding this problem. I try to power up my laptop but still the same, it only powering but not booting my O.S.

How full is your hard drive?

I hope that your answer is that it is less than 90% full.


try a hard reset as follows:

remove the battery and the ac adapter plug

press and hold the power button for longer than fifteen seconds.

plug in the ac adapter power or install the battery.

Press the start button

 

If it starts then go into Control Panel and Power options. Change to performance mode an never sleep so it won't turn off or sleep when you are defragging.

When you say it will not boot the OS, what is it doing?  Can you see anything windows related happening durin the boot (like the loading bar)?  If so you can try to recover using safe mode (F8 after the HP Splash screen).
