I've had this problem since day 1 i received the computer. My computer would randomly freeze. By freeze I mean nothing moves, music stops suddenly, keyboard and mouse input won't do anything and I will have to do a hard reboot by holding down the power button. The problem has becomen increasingly frequent and can happen ANYTIME.
cheers

Hi,
Shutdown the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.
If both the above tests pass, try the following.
From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'. In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.
Next, click the Start Menu, click Computer, left click Local Disc C once to highlight it, right click Local Disc C and select Properties. Click the Tools tab and then click the button to 'Check the Drive for Errors'. In the following window make sure both boxes are ticked and then click Start. Part of this process will require a restart to check the drive.

DP-K

Hi,
Try the short disk test first, but if that passes, you really should run the longer test as well.

Hi,
Did the System File Check report any integrity violations?
Has the system frozen since running this scan?

There wasn't any message after the file check as it took over 4 hours to scan and I was obviously not infront of my computer waiting for it to finish. But ye after the file check is done I logged on and it didn't say anything about errors

Hi,
I should have been more specific, but did the process in the box below report any integrity violations?

From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'. In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )

Hi,
When you have the time, try the following.
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f8 as soon as you start to launch Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter - see if the notebook still freezes when running in this mode.
