HP Pavilion 15 P-077tx
Windows 8.1

Hi, I recently bought this laptop HP Pavilion 15 P-077tx, from the first day i am facing this issue that my laptop's right click is working very slow. At first i thought it may be some hardware problem so i updated the latest drivers. However it doesn't resolved my problem and still the right cllick is very slow, specially on Desktop screen. I saw the same model on a mall which was quite faster than mine. I dont know what to do. Please give some suggestion.

Thanks

D Kumar

Hello @D_Kumar,

I understand that the Right-click button on the touchpad of your notebook computer is working very slowly, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!

To further diagnose this issue, I recommend following the steps in this document on Using and Troubleshooting the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 😎. This should help return the functionality back to the right-clickpad button.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

Hi MechPilot,

Thanks for your suggestion, but touchpad is not my problem. Even using a mouse the right click works very slow. I tried the same with 3 different mouses. Touchpad and mouse are working fine. The problem is in system. After right click on my desktop screen it takes 2-3 seconds while the context menu appears. It should not take that much time as per my knowledge.

If there is any problem with this system then i would like HP to either resolve it or Replace my laptop.

Hi again D_Kumar,

It is good to hear from you again!

Since this issue has occurred on multiple external mice, I recommend following this document on Right-click context menu in desktop appearing slow win 8.1. This should help increase the speed of the context menu on both the touchpad and your external mice.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

Thanks for your suggestion,

However ShellExView is not a feasible solution according to me. I have try it and its working fine as of now.

I have seen same laptop in a Mall where context menu was working fine without using ShellExView. Why can't my laptop be the same. What is actual problem?

Hi again D_Kumar,

Thank you for the quick reply!

Since notebooks of the same model can come with different software packages installed, or unique configurations, each computer will perform differently. It is possible that your notebook's configuration was designed to allow for more services to function or background programs to run.

Should your computer experience any performance issues in the future, I recommend following the steps in this document on Resolving slow system performance (Windows 😎. This should help improve the speed and efficiency of your notebook's system.

I hope this helps!

Best Regards Smiley Happy
