This is very weird, crazy issue. It began to happen today.
Introduction: I have installed ubuntu since 2008 in this laptop, from version 8, currently I have installed 11.04. My brother has the same issue from a month ago around. He has the same laptop model (HP DV9000), but Windows Vista.
The problem: mouse freeze aleatory by 1 or 2 seconds, both mouse pad and usb attached mouse. When I unplug the AC adapter, mouse works well inmediately.
Clues: I have forgotten my AC Adapter in my apartment this week, and I got my brother's one for working here (my parent's home). And other clue, today I have used an AC Adapter for cars, this give a 19,7V instead 18,5V of original AC Adapter. My brother use that car adapter too.

You arent alone. Mine has been doing it to for awhile now.
Everything charges fine, nothing is loose, touchpad is useless when I plug it in.
Mouse freezes every 4 secs or so for 2 secs then works for 4 secs then freezes for 2 secs.
It seems a chipset defect to me.....
I'm using it with Vista so it isn't OS related either...
I just tried the latest BIOS and that didnt solve the problem either.
Tried 4 different mice, removed Synaptics drivers too.
Just did a clean install and updated all of the drivers from HP.
Trying the Windows Updates now to see if that fixes it.

Oddly enough a Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse without the software seems to be working without any problems?
I used 2 Dell and 1 IBM corded standard PC mice and those kept having problems.
I used an HP wireless mouse, it gave me trouble.
Plugged in this higher end mouse that has much higher report resolution with blue track and it seems to be working without problem?

I'll look into it. This is the original PS that came with the laptop.
Thanks Walter!
