I have an HP Pavilion DV7. When I click on Google in the toolbar, it just hangs up and eventually tells me it cannot display the webpage. The only way I can ever get to Google is by actually typing in the IP address every time. Has anyone else had this problem? I ran a full system scan and Norton 360 can't cure it. This has been going on almost since I bought the computer a little over a year ago.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Welcome Moma.
Try downloading and running MalwareBytes.

Sorry to here that Moma.
Go to uninstall programs and uninstall and then reinstall Google toolbar.
See if that helps.

When I go to the uninstall programs list under Control Panel, Google doesn't appear anywhere, so there's nothing for me to uninstall. Don't know how to proceed.

I typed in the web address you gave. My computer won't go there. It just tries for about 30 seconds, and eventually says Internet Explorer can't display the web page.

I tried that too. Same "unable to access" result.

Click the link to download then run COMBOFIX.
You need to disable all resident shield virus protection programs that you can.
You can get one or more of the online rep's to help you on their forum if needed.
They are the best for a virus removal.
Hope this helps.
