dm43055dx - am touch typist - touchpad suddenly quits - have to reboot to get it back - help?

I have a new Pavilion dm-4-3055dx laptop.  I'm a touch typist and will be typing along and the touchpad suddenly quits working.  I have to reboot to get it back.  I am guessing I'm typing too fast and hit some key combo that does that but have searched and can't figure out what it is so I can try to avoid it.  Or maybe that's a wild guess and totally wrong.  Can anyone help?

Hi,

 

A lot of HP TouchPads can be Enabled/Disabled by double-tapping the top left corner of the pad - check if this is what's happeneing.
