HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC

Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit)

 

When I power up my notebook the only thing that happens is that I get a white screen. No error messages/codes, no startup screen, no options to enter BIOS settings, just a white screen. There are no LED lights flashing either when I power it on.

 

I had to force shutdown by holding the power button, then I tried turning it on again after I took the battery out and plugged in the AC adapter. Still the same problem.

 

I have had this notebook for less than a month; I have always been careful with it and have not dropped it or left it out in unsuitable conditions. The only places I use it is at school or at home and only on a hard surface. I transport it in a backpack made specifically for laptops as well. The last time that it was functional was this morning; I installed some security updates via Windows Update. When the installation was finished, instead of restarting I shutdown the notebook. I'm not sure if that would cause the issue but it's the only change I've made to it in the last 24 hours.
