Re: hp 620 freeze

Hi,

Can you post back with the full Model No. of your PC - see the list on the link below.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/pfinder?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&tool=&query=hp+620#N212

So that I don't post suggestions you have already tried, what troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

Regards,

Re: hp 620 freeze

Hi,

You're welcome :smileyhappy:

From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.  In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.

sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )

Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.

Next, click the Start Menu, click Computer, left click Local Disc C once to highlight it, right click Local Disc C and select Properties.  Click the Tools tab and then click the button to 'Check the Drive for Errors'.  In the following window make sure both boxes are ticked and then click Start.  Part of this process will require a restart to check the drive.

When this has completed, download and install the free versions of MBAM and SUPERAntiSpyware on the links below - I use avast too and the 2 products below are on-demand scanners only and will not interfere with Avast, but can detect Malware that other utilities often don't

MBAM

SUPERAntiSpyware

When installed, run full scans with both these utilities.

Re: hp 620 freeze

hey...

i done everything exactly how you wrote (especially was difficult "check drive for errors" because it needs some time to finish and comp freezes then i need to start over again  :smileytongue:  but in the end i succeed :smileyhappy: ), and scan and delete all of detected malware and suspicious files but IT DID NOT HELP!!! :smileysad:

computer again freezes, nothing changed!  :smileysad:

is there any other solution?!

is there possibility that there is error on some driver or something like that?

sooooorry for bothering you (:

Re: hp 620 freeze

Hi,

No problem at all, it's good to hear back from you :smileyhappy:

Was quite a lot of Malware detected?  The reason I'm asking is because this may have damaged the Windows installation which could be what's causing your problem.

Have you created your Recovery Discs?

Let me know regarding the above.  One thing to try in the meantime is a Selective Start up, detailed below.

Start the notebook and let Windows fully load.  Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In to the Run box type msconfig and hit enter.  In the following window, click the Start up tab, remove the tick next to each start up item and then click Apply to make the change.  Reboot the notebook and see if it now runs normally.  If it does, re-enable one start up item at a time ( choose you security software first ), click Apply and reboot to check if it still runs ok.  Keep doing this until you encounter the problem and you will know the last program you set to start is causing the freezing issue.

Best wishes,

Re: hp 620 freeze

Hi,

I believe the Malware that was present on your Pc has caused a degree of corruption in the operating system and your best option is to back up your personal files etc and then reinstall the operating system.

First though, you want to create your Recovery Discs.  To do this, click windows Start Menu, click All Programs, scroll down the list until you see a folder called Recovery Manager, open this and launch the Recovery Disc Creator application.  This will guide you through the process of creating your Recovery Discs - you will normally need between 3 and 5 DVDs for this.

Post back after you have done this.
