it inserts what I have typed mid sentence

when I type on notebook sometimes it inserts what I have typed mid sentence instead of continuing to add letters at end of sentence.

Looks like this - I am typing away( here and then I have to go mid sentence and delete what i have typed.) and it starts typing in the middle of my sentence.

Re: it inserts what I have typed mid sentence

I have the exact same problem and it's maddening.  I can't find any information on a fix yet.  Let me know if you figure it out.  I try to remember to put my arrow outside the field of type - that way it just stops typing instead of typing in the middle of the last sentence.

Re: it inserts what I have typed mid sentence

This used to happen to me. My guess is that you are brushing the touchpad with your sleeve (or something) as you type. This is moving the cursor. The solution is either to disable the touchpad altogether, and use a mouse, or, less drastically, to turn off the behavior whereby the touchpad treats a tap as a mouse click. This latter strategy will leave the touchpad still useable, and although it may still move the cursor around if you sleeve touches it, it will not matter so much because at least it will not think you are clicking to move the typing insertion point. (Or you could just wear short sleeves, I guess. :smileyhappy:)

Touchpad controls are probably either in Control Pannel, or an icon in your system tray/"notification area".

Personally, I always turn the tap-to-click option off on my touchpad. When it is on it is much too easy to click when you don't intend to even with your finger, let alone your sleeve. I plug in a mouse whenever possible, anyway, but it is not really any hardship to use the touchpad button for clicking.
