my hp notebook has a black screen with a cursor idk what to do

hi my hp has a black screen with a cursor blinking on it im able to press esc an run the bios test an reset to default all that stuff everything passes but it goes right back to the screen even when i press recovery it takes me back to the blank screen so i was thinking maybe my windows 7 got messed up an put a disk in to try an recover it but still no luck when i try running it i still get the blank screen idk what to do about this can anyone help?

yes you will need the windows repair disk i got one online googled windows 7 64 bit repair disk torrents thats if you dont have one i then burned it an put it in the hp but i had to close the cd drive at the same time as i click the boot from cd/dvd drive under the f9 menu it then worked if you go here he will explain what to do next
