I returned from a 2 week holiday to find that I could not logon to my laptop. During the time I was away the laptop was powered down. When I enter the correct password to logon I get: "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded." message. I tried powering the laptop for 3 hours then tried to logon again but without success. How do I get around this? Really would appreciate some help. Stephen

Hi Stephen,
Tap away at f8 as you start the notebook to enter Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter. If Windows will load in this mode, from the Start Menu, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and launch System Restore. Pick the earliest restore point you have and then proceed with the restore process. When complete, Windows will reboot as normal.
