stuck in sleep mode? black screen and bilking lights

so i belive my computer is stuck in sleep mode, i have an hp pavilion dv4 2145x 64bit windows 7, which i bought 2010. my computer been broken for a few months and cant seem to figure it out, its too expensive to get it checked out. anyways...im not sure whats the problem i try to do the hold down power technique and doesnt work, reset my ram and doesnt work, its starts up but then suddendly stops and sounds like it is on sleep mode. it does this 2 seconds after i turn on the power button, the caps locks is blinking but its hard to tell on the problem its just blinking once. i just want my computer fixed please :smileysad:

I"m having this problem with my DV7-1260US. First my keyboard and mousepad stopped working. I got my keyboard to work by putting my laptop into sleep mode and then waking it up. Now I can't get anything out of it at all. Just blinking lights.
