is your notebook still within the standard one year warranty?
Try the following:
Hold the Windows icon key down. (keep holding it down during the next step)
Press the power button and start tapping the B key.
If you installed the UEFI that should recover the BIOS.
If you never did install the available HP BIOS Update UEFI, then the preceding will have no effect.
When you try to power on does tapping the F2 key have any effect? (this is only for notebooks with UEFI installed)
Kind regards,
erico

Try the following:
Hold the Windows icon key down. (keep holding it down during the next step)
Press the power button and start tapping the B key.
When I tapping the F2 Button I can for example start the Diagnostic
Can you eplain me?

Hello everyone and thanks for the help.
I have the same problem with a ProBook 4710s. This is frozen on the screen of selftest ("Press the ESC key for Startup menu").
I've tried to remove the CMOS battery and the result has been the same.
Hard drive was replaced under warranty but not installed UEFI.
Is there any way to boot the system to replace the BIOS?
Thank you very much.

Read through this post.
Pressing the power button and then pressing the Windows key+ the B key should replace the corrupted BIOS with a fresh copy.
Best regards,

Hello again.
The BIOS file has a capacity of 2 MB. can not work with a floppy disk.
Is it possible to perform this process from a USB flash disk?
Thank you.

I need you to look back at my posts and answer the questions that I asked you before I answer anything else. This is a two way street. If you block the street by not answering the questions then traffic will stop.
I like to help, but I find it a bit frustrating when questions asked that are reasonable are not answered.
regards,
erico

Is there any way to boot the system to replace the BIOS? Not without great difficulty. It would actually be easier to have the eeprom reprogrammed by either an HP Service Center or a company that specializes in laptop BIOS repairs.
Thank you very much.
Is your notebook still in warranty?
If it is, contact HP.
If not, now you know what the simpler options are.
If you want to attempt to do it yourself (out of warranty) it will all depend on your skills.
